Kunsthal is an art museum in Rotterdam, Netherlands designed by Rem Koolhaas. The square volume is bisected by 2 axes determined by the urban context to create 4 entities that can function individually or collectively. Circulation is crucial and defines access to other programs. Split and rotation techniques were used to manipulate circulation to explore new programmatic organizations and adjacencies, creating opportunities to not just be a passageway, but also to be its own space of sharing.
